Lun Swan – Gold Floral headpiece

This was a commissioned head ornament jewelry made of 181 gms of 18 karat solid sold and other precious and semi precious gemstones! 

I designed this an interpretation of a mother’s love, to give her daughter something timeless which can pass as a family heirloom.

My client  wished to make a head ornament for her daughter for a coming of age ceremony. She wished to create a traditional jewellery which is used in their culture during marriages. The challenge was to create something in line with the traditional guidelines but different by being elegant and modern than the original ones and something which would be a connection to their roots.

All the different elements on this piece like the Rhododendron flower, Peacock, different coloured gemstones and pearls incorporated in this design not only contributes to the beauty of the piece but also holds deeper meaning to the client at a very personal level.  The concept was hand drawn then designed in CAD and fabricated by a combination of traditional and modern techniques using casting, assembling and stone setting to get the final result.
